OVERVIEW OF APPLICATION PROCESS

The aim of this guide is to provide necessary details for relevant organisations to understand how to register with the Karmakar Foundation and provide a framework for the design of the online portal.

This guide follows the following process.

The Karmakar Foundation works very closely with its grantee organizations throughout the entire process of building a scholar. We are constantly refining our processes ensure the best ways to identify and on-board talented students. We believe that it is extremely important for the foundation and its grantees to work very closely to achieve the shared impact we all desire.

The Foundation receives many hundreds of proposals and applications each year and it is worth noting that, despite the high number of well deserving applications, only a very few will be successful. Those that are successful will have a ‘best fit’ with the aims of the Foundation, have highlighted an ability to support children sufficiently, and are closely matched to our objectives. It is therefore very important to refer to these guidelines before submitting registering and supporting a request for funding.

Object of the Foundation

Providing talented children around the world with the support necessary to attend quality secondary education.

Target Beneficiaries

The Foundation’s focus is principally on supporting those students from under-privileged backgrounds. Whilst this definition can vary based on country contexts, generally we define this as those who are:

  • Below the poverty line but have access to shelter, food, clean water, and basic services provided by the government or private entities.
  • Do not access to quality education/healthcare.
  • Dependent on others.
  • Attending schools with very limited infrastructure and limited resources.

If you are unsure if the students you work with are eligible, please contact us for more detail.
